The story goes that in 1995, David Williams bought an orange Ford Mustang Mach 1, made a “for sale” sign and sat on a street corner. The car sold quickly and a business was born.
Two decades later, Fast Lane Classic Cars has a four-building campus in St. Charles, Missouri, just northwest of St. Louis, and more than 40 cars from the David and Laura Williams collection have been consigned at no reserve to Leake Auction Company’s Dallas Spring sale scheduled for April 21-23.
The cars on the auction docket include Mustangs (including Shelby Mustangs), a Ferrari F430 and a Plymouth Road Runner autographed by Richard Petty.
“David has an eclectic eye for spotting unique vehicles that others may miss,” Leake president Richard Sevenoaks said in a news release. “We are honored that David selected Leake Auction to offer part of his collection without reserve in Dallas.”
Highlights from the collection include:
- A 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28
- A 1967 Chevrolet Corvette 427
- A 1968 Shelby GT350 Mustang
- A 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SL
- A 2006 Ferrari F430
- A 1958 Imperial Crown with a 393 Hemi V8
- A 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302
- A 1968 Plymouth Road Runner signed by Petty
“Cars of this caliber do not come often and provide buyers a great opportunity,” Sevenoaks added.
