To celebrate National Collector Car Appreciation Day Friday July 8, Vicari Auctions has organized an inaugural Louisiana Driving Tour, which is being held with support from state Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser’s office.
Tour participants are to meet in the “overflow lot” on River Road at the L’Auberge Baton Rouge Casino & Hotel before departing for Avery Island at 8:30 a.m.
Avery Island is home to the Tabasco factory where Vicari participants can tour the hot sauce birthplace and drive through the Jungle Gardens. Lunch will be provided to tour participants at the Tabasco factory.
Prior to returning to New Orleans, the tour will stop at the Wedell-Williams Aviation & Cypress Sawmill Museum in Patterson to see vintage aircraft.
The tour ends at Mardi Gras World along the Mississippi riverfront with a Louisiana seafood boil hosted by Nungesser’s office and the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board.
Tour registration can be completed online for a $50 fee per car covering driver and one guest; additional passengers are $25. Additionally, Vicari has worked with the L’Auberge Baton Rouge Casino & Hotel to secure special room rates for tour participants.
