The United Kingdom’s annual Concours of Elegance Royal will be held September 4-6, 2015, at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, Scotland, “with the gracious permission of Her Majesty The Queen,” the organizers have announced.

Not only does the event attract a group of the world’s most historic and significant classic vehicles, but is hosted by a different royal venue each year. The inaugural concours was staged at Windsor Castle in 2012. Subsequent events were held at St James Palace and, this year, at Hampton Court Palace.

In addition to the concours, participants will take their vehicles on a two-day driving tour of Scotland, September 2-3.

“Set against the backdrop of Arthur’s Seat, the Palace of Holyroodhouse is a truly exceptional venue, standing at the end of Edinburgh’s world-famous Royal Mile, and being Her Majesty The Queen’s official residence in Scotland,” the news release said. “The annual Concours of Elegance remains totally unique in being the only automotive event in the UK to enjoy an authentic and spectacular Royal Palace as its backdrop, with keen Royal motoring enthusiast HRH Prince Michael of Kent as the event’s Patron.”

While the concours is limited to 60 vehicles, hundreds of other cars from automakers and car clubs will be arrayed on the palace grounds.
