One-hundred years of truck history will be on display August 4-6 when Carlisle Events hosts its Truck Nationals at the Carlisle Fairgrounds in Pennsylvania.
Shortly after the trucks leave, Corvettes will invade for their event August 24-27, when the program includes a 50th anniversary display of the 1967 Corvette, an L88 reunion and showcase, and a showcase of Callaway Cars in celebration of that company’s 30th anniversary.
Other highlights include seminars with Corvette mechanics, Paul Koerner and Brittany George, while Team Chevrolet will highlight the latest Corvettes, products and technologies via walkarounds in front of the stage.
Finally, Carlisle Events hosts the Fall Carlisle, scheduled for September 27-October 1. The event will include a Carlisle Auction September 28-30 with a 2006 Ford GT among the vehicles crossing the block. The Ford GT offered is one of 75 produced in Speed Yellow with a black interior and shows just 1,900 miles.
The GT was showcased at the recent Carlisle Ford Nationals, which drew more than 3,100 Fords and featured special displays honoring E & F Code cars, the 50th anniversary of the Mercury Cougar, 60 years of the Edsel, and 100 Years of Ford trucks.
Additionally, Shelby American presented a pair of prototype Shelby Super Snakes and Ford showcased its Roush Nightmare Edition F-150.
Following the Fords was the Chevrolet Nationals, including a Nitrofest session with Bruce Larson and his USA-1 Corvette, along with the Time Bomb Vega.
Additionally, the first Camaro produced attended the event and sat beside the 5 millionth Camaro.
A special V12 custom-built 1967 Camaro sat across the aisle from the original ’67 Camaro, and visitors could enjoy other displays celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Camaro and Firebird, combined with a pace car display, Solid Lifter Showroom and the National Parts Depot Showfield laced with the best of Cadillac, Pontiac, General Motors, Chevrolet, Buick, Cosworth Vega, Monza Mirage and more.
The last of the Big Three then took over the fairgrounds for the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals. In addition to hosting 3,000 cars and 50,000 people, the event featured Tom Wopat, also known as Luke Duke of TV’s Dukes of Hazzard, as well as the 840 horsepower Dodge Demon.
