Snow machines featured at Owls Head museum

On January 23, the Owls Head Transportation Museum in Owls Head, Maine, will feature a one-day show featuring the evolution of the mechanized snowmobile, ranging from the early 20th century machines to modern day adaptations.

All pre-2000 snow machines are eligible to show for free. The event includes outdoor areas to show and for demonstrations as well as space indoors for the first 50 “show-stopping” snowmobiles.

The show also will include a “touch-a-snow-machine” area as well as a designated vintage sled for children to experience.

The museum will award best of show, best original/preserved, ost innovative design and best restored trophies.

Roll-in and set up will be from 7:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with the show running from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, while those under 18 or who are retired or activate military get free admission.
