OK, we’ll admit it. The primary reason that we’re running this article is that we’re suckers for car collages such as the one above.
But there is another reason we’re sharing that wonderful illustration: Each month, the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum in Philadelphia takes a few cars out of its indoor displays and exercises them in the museum’s parking lot.
Yes, it’s terrific to see such cars in any environment, but cars were made to be driven and Fred Simeone and his staff believe strongly in letting people hear exhaust notes and see cars in motion.
Usually, the staff makes the selections under a theme such as “Best of Italy” or “NASCAR Racing Legends.” But for November, it’s the People’s Choice Demo Day with all of us deciding which of the three cars above will be exercised by the museum staff at noon on Saturday, November 29.
Here’s how it works: You go to the museum website and cast your vote for three vehicles before 5 p.m. (Eastern) on Monday, November 24. The Simeone website will allow each person to vote only once, but your vote counts and the three winning cars will be announced at 5 p.m. Tuesday, the 25th and will roar into motion at noon on the 29th.
