Rewind: 1955 Ford TV commercial

-

(Editor’s note: Vintage television commercials can be as classic as the cars they promoted back in the day. This is one in an ongoing series of such vintage car commercials we’ve found on YouTube.)

In 1955 Ford was eager to point out that its cars weren’t designed and built with “superficial features” to help provoke the feeling of motion. No, that feeling was forcefully and imaginatively incorporated into the company’s new car designs right from the beginning.

Of course, potential buyers were encouraged to visit a Ford dealer and see how all the chrome and fresh new colors provoked a need to actually put the car in motion.
