Only 13 Model X Duesenbergs were produced, and only four are known to still exist. The unique Model X housed at the Auburn Cord Duisenberg Automobile Museum will be the subject of the monthly “If These Cars Could Talk” lecture series Saturday at the museum in Auburn, Indiana.
“Visitors will be treated to a special presentation into what makes this rarest of the Duesenbergs, the 1927 Duesenberg Model X Boat Roadster such a unique automobile,” said Sam Grate, the museum’s registrar.
The car, which was donated to the museum by Rita and Peter Heydon, is the only Model X designated as a “Boat Roadster” and was the precursor to the famed Auburn Boattail Speedster design.
The monthly program gives visitors the opportunity to meet one automobile from the museum’s collection and get to know it more in-depth with a live car-side presentation. The presentation will be offered twice on Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
See the the museum’s website for more information.
