Throughout Arizona Auction Week, we have been bringing you daily results as reported to us by Hagerty, the classic car insurance company and pricing-guide publisher, which staffs each of the venues and tracks the sales. These are raw results witnessed by Hagerty staffers and may not include post-sale transactions. Figures do include the buyer’s premium. We will share an official tally as soon as we receive final reports from the various auction companies.

The six classic and collector car auction companies participating in Arizona Auction Week did a record $292.8 million in sales, according to preliminary figures provided by Hagerty. That figure represents a 17.7 percent increase compared with the same events the previous year.

The Arizona auctions first exceeded the $100-million mark in 2005, went beyond $150 just three years later, and recovered with $158 million in sales in 2011 as the recession was ending. Since then, sales have soared to $185 million in 2012, $226 million in 2013, $248.6 in 2014 and $292.8 in 2015.

Boosted by the sale of the Ron Pratte collection of more than 140 vehicles, Barrett-Jackson posted preliminary sales of $131.9 million in the past week, a 22 percent increase compared with 2014 figures.

Barrett-Jackson ended its 2015 Scottsdale auction Sunday with $5 million in sales for the day, led by a 1964 Austin-Healey 3000 Mk III BJ8 that sold for $101,200.

Also ending Sunday was the Russo and Steele sale, which posted $1.1 million in sales for the day, led by a 2002 Jaguar XK8 convertible that sold for $74,250.

Russo and Steele’s 2015 Scottsdale auction totaled $17.2 million as 414 of 661 lots sold. A year ago, the sale generated $19 million, but included 751 vehicles, with 456 of them selling. While total sales figures were less than a year ago, Russo and Steele had a 69 percent sell-through rate this year compared with a 61 percent figure in 2014.
