Time to come down to earth after all the top-drawer concours cars and lofty auction prices last week in Monterey. So let’s go four-wheeling!
The Pick of the Day is built for fun, a custom 1977 Ford Bronco Ranger with four-wheel drive and boosted performance, offered for sale by a dealer in Lenexa, Kansas. Ford’s stylish answer to the Jeep is an enduring favorite among hunters, hikers and backwoods travelers, as well as growing in popularity among collectors.

The Bronco has been upgraded with a fuel-injected 5.0-liter V8, presumably Ford though the ad doesn’t say as much, linked up with automatic transmission. The little red convertible also comes with air conditioning, power steering and power brakes, plus larger custom wheels and tires, and contrasting black fender flares.
The top looks funky but functional, although you mostly see these with factory hard tops. This model year was the last for the boxy, compact Bronco, which turned into a full-size SUV after that.
The price seems quite affordable at $23,500, especially after witnessing the whacky bidding at the Monterey auctions that often defied reason. For that price, you get a crisp-looking sport-ute that will take you deep into the wilderness as well as being the envy of your car buddies.

1977 Bronco 4×4 was a grate vehicle for its time and is still fun to enjoy ! I’m glad I got to enjoy one back when I was 15. Many of memories riding the sandbars on the Mississippi River going to the swimming hole and cookouts ! Still good to see them around .
