There are a variety of reasons why people sell a classic car. Here’s one:
“We absolutely love this car,” the private seller reports in an advertisement on ClassicCars.com, “but have purchased another classic with a bit more room (and) we don’t have room to store both.”
Therefore, our Pick of the Day, a 1964 Chevrolet El Camino, is for sale. The car is located in Austin, Texas, and the asking price is $12,500, but “we will consider any serious offers” because the seller simply doesn’t have room for two collector vehicles.
The seller reports that it’s been less than a year since installing a 300-horsepower, 350-cid crate engine and four-speed 700R4 transmission into the car/truck, along with a new radiator with electric fan, a set of 15-inch Cragar wheels and new tires, Flowmaster exhaust, custom wood bed and even a classic-style but modern AM/FM radio with a phone plug.
“We have documentation of everything in the vehicle,” the seller notes.
“This car is a lot of fun to drive and handles brutal Austin traffic and freeway driving with no problem, no squeaks or rattles.”
In fact, he adds, “My wife uses it as an everyday driver.”
