Here’s the happiest camper you’re ever likely to see, a low-mileage 1958 Rambler sedan hooked up to a custom teardrop trailer in matching colors of Rose and Black.
The Lakeland, Florida, classic car dealer describes the Pick of the Day in the ClassicCars.com listing as an “amazing and adorable mint survivor,” a 24,000-mile original Texas car that still has the plastic covers on its seats (though they have yellowed, the seller notes, and it’s probably time to take them off because the upholstery looks great underneath).
The all-original car, aside from a repaint in the original colors, comes equipped with a six-cylinder engine with push-button automatic transmission, the original interior in excellent condition and perfect original wheel covers, the sellers says, noting that the body and chrome are nearly pristine except for some minor defects. The Rambler features a front seat that reclines into a bed (always a favorite on date night).
The tiny camping trailer is a recent addition, a 2013 retro model built to match the Rambler. It contains a queen-size bed, 110-volt air conditioning and lighting, water hookup and sink, stove and cooler, table and umbrella, and plenty of storage space, according to the listing.
The Rambler and its perky trailer are a favorite everywhere they go, the sellers adds.
“I took this setup to a large car event this past weekend and it was the hit of the show,” the dealer relates. “Whether you show it or enjoy some retro camping, it will attract a crowd. A piece of American history ready for its new owner.”
The Rambler sedan and camper are priced at $29,500, which sounds like a fair deal for something that would be hard to duplicate. The 24,000-mile sedan is probably worth that alone.
