Let’s say you are buying your dream car, and you really can’t decide between the classic look of an old truck, or a modern muscle car. Both have pros and cons, but what if you could combine the two to get the best of both worlds?
That’s exactly what a private seller in Hot Springs, Arkansas did with our Pick of the Day, a 1951 Ford F1 Pickup, listed on ClassicCars.com.
What first caught my eye was the bright red paint and flashy chrome on the truck that only seemed to enhance the classic styling. When I saw the rear, I did a double take as I questioned if what I was seeing were 13/14 Mustang taillights. I next got a glimpse of under the hood and smiled when I recognized a 5.0 Coyote V8 tucked away and I lost it when I saw the interior.
Whatever you want to call it, restomod, retro classic, the builder flawlessly engineered this old Ford truck to “accept the heart and soul of a 2014 Mustang GT.” The Coyote motor pushes out 420 Horsepower and features a 6-speed manual transmission out of the mustang as well.
Best of both worlds comes into play as the Mustang GT’s suspension and 4-wheel disc brakes have been placed on this truck giving the driver maneuverability like no other truck of its kind, and all the joys of driving a modern muscle car.
The interior of the truck is a complete 2014 Mustang GT interior, featuring the dashboard, shifter, console, power seat and windows, ice cold air, cruise control, blue tooth, PCM and electronics.
Less than 3,000 miles have been placed on this one of a kind build, being offered for $148,500.

Beautiful job, absolutely beautiful! I don’t like the taillights. They look wrong for this truck. The interior is out of sight gorgeous though, and what I can see of that engine bay is stunning. I’ve never seen an older Ford pickup done this way. Congrats to the builder. Obviously a labor of love!
