1934 Lincoln K Town Sedan V12

A big, elegant 1934 Lincoln K Town Sedan powered by a V12 engine, and in decent condition, sounds like one of those pricey classics that you’d see going well into six figures at a collector-car auction in Monterey.

But no. This bragging-rights Lincoln is being offered by a Lansdale, Pennsylvania, dealer in a ClassicCars.com ad for a relatively low asking price of less than $40,000. The Lincoln was fully restored in 2000 and “still looks great and impresses everyone,” the seller notes in the ad description.

As the saying goes, that sounds like a whole lot of car for the money. Although according to the value guides, that’s about what these pre-war V12 Lincolns with factory coachwork go for these days. You might ask why, and so does the seller.

“We look at the ridiculous prices of Packards, Pierce Arrows and the like, and we wonder why these wonderful Lincolns don’t command more in the market place,” the dealer says in the listing. “Isn’t it inevitable that their time will come? We’re very bullish about the upside appreciation on these classic Lincolns.”

All Lincolns in 1934 were powered by an updated side-valve V12 engine that displaced 6.8 liters and produced 150 horsepower, driven through a three-speed manual transmission. These beefy engines are also longtime favorites among customizers to turn into “hot rod Lincolns.”

The V12 luxury sedan appears in the accompanying photos to be really nice, with a crisp-looking paint job, an attractive interior and a clean engine compartment. Maybe not the most exciting body configuration, but it is quite impressive and even has a cool, leaping canine mascot on its radiator cap.

The massive sedan is equipped with dual side-mount spare tires and driving lights, the seller notes. The odometer shows just 9,600 miles, presumably accumulated since restoration. According to the seller, it starts easily and is a “fine-driving classic Lincoln K.”

“This is a great, comfortable car in which to tour,” the seller adds.

The Lincoln would be such a terrific car for you and some buddies (or the family) to take out on a classic road trip or to participate in a cross-country rally.

And at the asking price of $39,900, this Lincoln would be most certainly a usable classic car that you wouldn’t have to treat like a precious garage queen.
