‘Swedish Speed and Style” came to Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, on September 15-18 for the Volvo Club of America’s National Meet, held in conjunction with the 31st annual Elkhart Lake Vintage Festival at the Road America race track.
Competition cars swelled the ranks of the event, which along with perfect weather made for one of the largest turnouts in the Vintage Festival’s recent history.
The lower paddock area of Road America was almost exclusively filled with racing Volvos, an amazing feat for any single-marque entrant. Outside of Turn 5, the VCOA set up their Club Concours, with nearly every classic model of Volvo on display.
Saturday’s activities included a police-escorted tour of the old road course held on public roads around the Village, ending on Lake Street and later moving to “The Gather on the Green” car show at the Osthoff Resort.
Saturday evening, the club hosted a banquet in the elegant ballroom of the Osthoff Resort, the host hotel on the shore of Elkhart Lake. Sunday featured a Volvo Parade Lap of the famous four-mile road course, and a high-speed track touring session for street cars.

I’m looking for a non running volvo p1800 with nice body and interior. Need not have an engine. I plan on installing a General Motors super charged 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine and borgwarner 5 speed tranny.
