‘Emerging Collectibles” and “Factory Drag Cars” are the subjects of two free seminars being offered Saturday by Hagerty Classic Car Insurance in conjunction with the Concours d’Elegance of America at the Inn at St. John’s in Plymouth, Michigan.
The first seminar, starting at 9 a.m., will take a look at the changing classic car marketplace with an eye on vehicles gaining popularity and the impact that has on their value. Panelists are collector Myron Vernis, journalist Rob Sass, valuation expert Dave Kinney and RM Sotheby’s Alain Squindo. Hagerty Classic Cars editor Jonathan Stein will be moderator.
At 10:30 a.m., another panel will share the history of the heyday of factory-backed drag racing by Detroit’s automakers. Panelists are veteran drag racers Butch Leal, Nick Smith, Dave Koffel and Howard Maseles, with drag racing expert and former New York Times automobiles editor Norman Mayersohn as moderator.
