In conjunction with the Georgian mansion’s 20th annual Country Fair and Capability Brown’s Tercentenary, the inaugural Heveningham Hall Concours d’Elegance is scheduled for July 2-3 at the 18th Century estate in Suffolk, England.
According to the organizers, the concours will feature some 50 prominent pre- and post-war cars selected to showcase motorsports history. Among the cars are a 1926 Vauxhall 30-90 Velox, one of only 20 remaining; the 19th 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL gullwing, raced in the Mille Miglia by Alberico Cacciari; the 1995 McLaren F1 GTR that finished third at Le Mans with Derek and Justin Bell as two of its drivers; as well as a Ferrari 250 GTO, Ferrari 250 GT SWB and a D-type Jaguar.
“We are delighted to be able to announce these iconic cars as part of our first concours, and there are a lot more to come,” Andrew Hall, speaking for the organizers, said in a news release. “They all have interesting stories and I can’t wait to see them all lined up on the day.”
The events will take place on the 5,000-acre estate’s Capability Brown parkland. The annual fair typically attracts some 15,000 visitors and distributes proceeds to local charities for village ands school projects, church repairs and nursing care.
