On November 3, the National Corvette Museum and its motorsports park in Bowling Green, Kentucky, will play host to members of the Fort Campbell Warrior Transition Battalion. The day — Vets ’n Vettes — will include rides in Corvettes at the track, museum and plant tours, and a lunch presented by a Chevrolet dealer from Somerset, Kentucky, as part of the celebration.
The Vets ’n Vettes has been staged annually since 2008 to honor veterans and has expanded into a three-day celebration that includes American Warrior Recognition as a way to provide returning veterans with a special Corvette Experience.
Other activities planned during the weekend include a “meet n’ greet,” road tours, seminars and participation in the Bowling Green Veterans’ Day Parade.
Online registration is $20 and open until October 24 at 8 a.m.
Trunk-or-Treating:
Halloween candy will be shared October 22 at the AACA Museum and October 30 at the California Automobile Museum and the America on Wheels museum.
The World of Speed Museum in Allentown, Pennsylvania, holds Trunk-or-Treating during the museum’s Spooktacular Halloween Celebration on October 22, from noon to 4 p.m. The event includes a costume parade and a pumpkin race.
The NCM Motorsports Park holds a Trunk or Treat car show on October 25, from 4 to 6 p.m.
The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum will host Trick-or-Treat on October 30 from 1 to 3 p.m. for kids 12 and younger.
Car shows (with and without coffee):
Muscle Car City in Punta Gorda, Florida, holds their monthly car show this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The free car show is open to the public while show cars are eligible for six awards. On October 30, the museum holds its monthly auto Flea Market and Car Corral from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Automotive Hall of Fame in Dearborn, Michigan, holds Cars and Coffee this Saturday.
The Blackhawk Museum holds its a second annual All British Car Meet on Saturday. The All British meet is supported by the Mini Owners of America San Francisco chapter.
The inaugural Toy & Model Car Show and People’s Choice Contest is Saturday at the America On Wheels Museum in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes show stock, custom, race car, street rod, truck and classics.
World of Speed Museum members meet at noon by Door 1 on Sunday for an easygoing cruise to the French Prairie Gardens pumpkin patch. Admission to the pumpkin patch and corn maze is $5.

On October 21 and 22, the Simeone Museum hosts Corvette Racing program manager Doug Fehan and two-time Le Mans-winning driver Tommy Milner for a two-day celebration of Corvette Racing. Highlights include dinner, a meet and greet, Demo Day, memorabilia auction and autograph session.
The Seal Cove Auto Museum in Maine holds a masquerade ball October 22 from 7 to 10 p.m.
The World of Speed Museum in Wilsonville, Oregon, holds the “simulator race series” on October 27 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
The California Automobile Museum in Sacramento holds its annual Art of the Car benefit November 4, starring artist and car enthusiast David Garibaldi. The dinner supports the museum’s mission to preserve, exhibit and teach the story of the automobile and its influence on our lives.
Educational Opportunities:
The World of Speed Museum holds Les Schwab Workshops on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The workshop will go over how to prepare your car for the rainy and snowy winter months ahead. All supplies will be provided, though the museum asks participants to register for the free event.
October 19, the Simeone museum holds a “Drive Safe 4 PA,” a free safe-driving event for teens and parents to raise awareness of driver safety issues. Activities will include impaired driving simulators, diagnostic driving demonstrations, games like the Quick Click Seat Belt Challenge and special demonstrations from the Ford Driving Skills for Life program.
Set for October 24, the Curator at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angles presents “the Art of Bugatti” at 7 p.m. The lecture is free but does not include full access to the museum gallery or parking.
The Kansas City Automotive Museum will explain basic car maintenance during the back-to-basics workshop, set for October 30 from 1 to 4 p.m.
The autumn series of lectures at the National Motor Museum in England starts with Mac Hulbert on October 22 who will discuss his passion for historic cars which led to his collection of race cars from the ERA R4D from 2001 to 2015. Following Hulbert is Sarah Cofts on November 19 discussing Women in Motorsport, then on December 3, the museums Chief Engineer, Doug Hill, discusses Under the Bonnet Again.
The Blackhawk Museum continues its Fall Speaker series on November 5 with author and barn-find hunter Tom Cotter. On November 12, the 1986 Indy 500 winner Bobby Rahal speaks at the museum.
From 10 a.m. to noon on November 26 and December 17, the AACA Museum holds a two-hour Build-A-T Workshop for children 8-12 years old. Advance registration is required.
