You can celebrate this Fourth of July at the World of Speed in Wilsonville, Oregon, where every car in the museum will have its hood up in a 93-car salute to America. Additionally, the museum’s curatior will rev up two cars from the collection — a 1979 Markley-Bruins Top Fuel dragster and the 1995 Jeff Gordon No. 24 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, a NASCAR Sprint Cup car.
Meanwhile, the AACA Museum in Hershey, Pennsylvania, will be open late for an “old fashioned July 4th event. Admission t will be $7 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a great view of the Hershey Fireworks and Ice Cream available.
The museum also celebrates National Collector Car Appreciation Day on July 10 by offering a ride in an antique car from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The following day, July 11, the 9th annual Cadillac and LaSalle Club Show will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Tonight, in Olathe, Kansas, the Kansas City Automotive Museum hosts its first Friday cruise-in concert featuring a live band and a place to show off your ride. The event is from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. Other upcoming events at the museum include a “Cars and Gasoline” events with breakfast and coffee provided July 11 and August 8. And save the date August 29 when the museum hosts a Cruiseum poker run. More information will be provided closer to the event.
July 5 is the dates of the first Sunday ‘Cars and Coffee at the Blackhawk Automotive Museum in Danville, California. The meet will take place at the Blackhawk museum canopy with coffee provided by Scotts catering. Coffee will served as early as at 7:30 a.m. with the first 400 participating car owners receiving a museum admission ticket good for two guests.
Starting at 8:00 a.m. on July 11 and 12, the Owls Head Transportation Museum in Owls Head, Maine, will host a “rod, custom, and muscle car cruise-in” alongside the National Street Rod Association appreciation weekend which features NSRA members from around the area displaying their cars on the runway.
The “Best of Japan” exhibit, featuring 18 of the greatest Japanese sports cars ever built, opens Sunday, July 5 at the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum in Philidelphia, and run through July 19. On July 11, the museum will also host a demo day featuring, “Giant Killers: Light vs. Might.” The demo day will feature a 1913 Mercer Raceabout, 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 SS, 1934 MG K3 Magnettem and a 1954 Austin Healey 100-4 BN1, cars the museum believes won races because of their maneuverability and balance in road races.
Friday, July 10, Muscle Car City in Punta Gorda, Florida, hosts a celebration for the 4th annual Collector Car Appreciation Day from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. On July 18 the museum’s monthly car and bike show starts at 9 a.m..
The Skydome at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky, reopens in just a few weeks. The museum is ooking for a 1978 25th Anniversary Corvette to display as well as a 1988 35th Anniversary Corvette and a 2012 Centennial Edition.
Space is still available in the July 20 Sinkhole Science summer camp and the July 31 Wild Weather summer camp for kids in grades K-8. The cost is $45 per student and the one day camp runs from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
On July 16 the NCM will host a car part art workshop for kids in grades 4-12 for $30 per student. The cost includes an exhibit entry fee with art being returned to the students after the exhibit closes in January.
From now until September 13, the Museum has a NASCAR themed exhibit on display titled “from Moonshine to Finish Line” with 14 race cars.
Saturday, August 1 in Sacramento, California, the California Automobile Museum hosts a Car Cruise and show featuring the Gig Garcia Band, a beer garden, food trucks, and vendor shopping.
