Auctions America returns to home turf for its annual Auburn Spring Collector Car Weekend sale May 7-9. The auction will feature about 500 muscle cars, classics, sports cars and customs, plus an impressive group of 29 antique motorcycles from the Preston Evans collection.
Held at the historic Auburn Auction Park in Auburn, Indiana, the sale includes a fully restored 1970 Dodge 426 Hemi Challenger R/T hardtop in Lemon Twist with a Shaker hood and four-speed manual transmission, which Auctions America expects will sell between $340,000 and $380,000.
A rare 2006 Ford GTX1 TT Spyder, one of around 30 produced by Ford-authorized coachbuilder Genaddi Design Group, is another highlight, valued at $300,000 to $350,000 as auction prices for Ford GTs continue to stay strong. This one boasts a removable roof panel, 1,000-horsepower V8 and carbon-fiber trim.
Rare and historic motorcycles ranging from the dawn of the 20th Century to popular British sport bikes of the 1960s will include such gems as a 1902 Marsh, believed to be the only one remaining and valued at $80,000 to $85,000, a terrific 1915 Indian Model G Big Twin estimated from $40,000 to $45,000, and a 1920 Ace Four with Watsonia Sidecar, an inline-four-cylinder motorcycle that could reach speeds of 85 mph, making it the fastest motorcycle of its day. One of only three 1920 Aces known to exist, its value is estimated at $120,000 to $125,000.
As always, Auctions America features a wide range of collector cars on the docket, primarily from the Big 3 domestic brands, with prices geared to everyone from casual hobbyists to serious collectors.
Aside from the auction, Auburn Spring features a car corral and swap meet, as well as the Antique Automobile Club of America’s Special National Spring Meet, which is set to bring an additional 300 cars to the grounds of the Auburn Auction Park.
Auctions America will help support AACA through the sale of five vehicles to benefit the antique car group. These include a 1953 Studebaker Commander Starliner Coupe, $25,000 to $35,000, and a 1934 Ford pickup, $24,000 to $28,000.
