Mecum returns to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, for its second annual auction with an estimated 1,000 collector cars and hundreds of vintage motorcycles and antique tractors.
The three-day sale features a broad selection of American muscle cars, classics, Corvettes, hot rods, resto mods, sports cars and others, Mecum said, as well as about 200 motorcycles, 200 tractors and 150 tin and neon signs. The sale is the first for Mecum that includes collector cars, motorcycles and farm tractors all in one event, the auction said.
Star cars at the Harrisburg sale include a 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429 fastback, 2006 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, 1969 Chevrolet Yenko Chevelle, and two 1968 Shelby GT500KRs, a convertible and a fastback.
The auction, which takes place July 30-August 2 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center, follows the inaugural Harrisburg event last year that totaled more than $20 million in sales and a 70 percent sell-through rate.
Dana Mecum, founder and president of the auction house, said he was gratified by last year’s reception in central Pennsylvania.
