Mecum’s Gone Farmin’ sale tops half a million at Harrisburg

With a 77 percent sell-through rate, Mecum’s inaugural ‘Gone Farmin’ auction in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, sent 107 tractors aross the block and posted sales of over a half a million dollars.

“This was Gone Farmin’s first auction in Harrisburg and we’re pleased with the results,” Dan Mecum, president and founder of Mecum Auctions’ Gone Farmin’ division, was quoted in a news release. “The crowd brought a lot of energy which made for an exciting auction day.”

The top seller of the event was a 1972 John Deere 4000 diesel, one  of only 428 diesel powershift 4000s built. It sold for $36,000.

Deere’s accounted for the top three sales and half of the top-10.

The next Gone Farmen’ auction is the Iowa Premier, November 5-7 at the Mississippi Valley Fair Center in Davenport, Iowa.
