Mecum Auctions rolls into Southern California on Thursday for its annual three-day sale at the Anaheim Convention Center, with about 750 muscle cars, customs and classics offered for bidding.
The collector car auction, held Thursday through Saturday, includes a pair of 1968 Pontiac Firebird coupes with the rare Ram Air option; a 1957 Ford Thunderbird E-Code, one of the last two-seat T-birds made; and a 1969 Shelby GT500 fastback equipped with the 428 SCJ Drag Pack.
Two of the most-impressive custom cars on the docket are a 1959 Cadillac Coupe DeVille powered by an LS3 high-performance Chevy V8, and a 1963 Chevrolet resto-mod with an LS1 engine and fewer than 500 miles since a frame-off restoration.
Among the modern exotics is a 2006 Ford GT with a six-speed manual transmission and 2,500 miles on its odometer, which is being offered at no reserve.
The auction begins Thursday with a selection of Road Art starting at 11:30 am and at 8:30 am Friday and Saturday.
