For two dozen years, Gordon McCall has hosted a Monterey Classic Car Week party at the Monterey Jet Center, where cars old and new are parked next to aircraft of varying vintage and where a mix of car enthusiasts, celebrities and others mix and mingle.
Now known as McCall’s Motorworks Revival, the event raises funds for the 11-99 Foundation that aids California Highway Patrol personnel and their families in times of need.
Exotic automakers often showcase their latest vehicles at the event. Barrett-Jackson may not have an auction in Monterey, but it had a display at McCalls featuring a couple of star cars already on the docket for its Scottsdale sale in January.
Another highlight Wednesday night was the presence on the tarmac of one of the huge and recently restored General Motors Parade of Progress Futurliner display buses.
