Ken Lingenfelter, one of the most active of car collectors, will open his collection October 15 at his annual Charity Fall Open House in Brighton, Michigan.

Once upon a time, Lingenfelter’s collection encompassed five cars, and they were jammed into a three-car garage. Now, he has more than 180 cars, from classic 1950s American machines to the latest in modern exotics, and he houses them in a large (40,000 square feet) building that he opens only on special occasions, primarily when car clubs or charities are involved.

When John died after a crash on the drag strip, Ken bought Lingenfelter Performance Engineering and grew it into a major player in the production of engine packages, superchargers and high-performance aftermarket components.

He also grew his own car collection, which changes frequently as he is a very active participate in collector car auctions across the country.

The annual Charity Fall Open House is open to anyone making a contribution at the door to benefit The Pink Fund, which benefits those battling breast cancer and their families.
