RM’s Arizona auction always has such a wide range of great cars: classics, cruisers, sports cars, muscle cars and, in recent years, Ferraris, lots of Ferraris. They all look great parked around the grounds of the Arizona Biltmore Resort in Phoenix, although the most-pricey numbers were nestled on the rug in the ballroom.
So much to choose from, and really, just about everything out there appeals to me. But decisions must be made, so here are the cars I’d like to take home and park in my garage (though one of them probably wouldn’t fit – guess which one):
 | 1966 Shelby GT350 The best thing that ever happened to a Mustang, and this fastback coupe looks hot in solid black with correct alloy wheels. OK, so this is the second GT350 I’ve picked this week. But it cries out for a road trip. A long one. |
 | 1955 Ferrari 250 GT Europa Boano This very special V12-engine alloy coupe caught my eye because of its striking Tour de France custom paint scheme, among other awesome things. Fabulous, and valued at just $1.75 million to $2.25 million. |
 | 1966 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser Land Cruisers have been hitting prime time in recent years, and this one scores on originality, including its pale-green repaint. A spartan off roader, and I’d like to take it for a desert romp. |
 | 1971 Lancia Fulvia Sport 1.3S Full disclosure: this Zagato-bodied beauty is being sold by a friend of mine. But I dig it just the same. A reasonable price estimate puts the exotic Italian at $40,000-$60,000. |
 | 1913 Regal Model N ‘underslung’ roadster Underslung means the axles are mounted over the chassis, which gives the car a sporty profile and low center of gravity, rare in its day. A veteran sports car that would be so much fun to own. |
 | 1941 Chrysler Royal Town and Country ‘barrelback’ This is the kind of SUV that I want to drive, a big ole Chrysler woody that’s called a barrelback for obvious reasons. The wood finish on this one looks like fine furniture. |
 | 1955 Porsche 356 Pre-A ‘Emory Special’ Ladies love outlaws, and so do I, as long as they’re Porsches. This extremely cool early custom coupe was built for the track by the madmen at Emory Motorsports of Southern California, naturally. |
