Ferrari’s 70th anniversary and “game-changing” racing cars of all marques will be the featured themes of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, scheduled for June 29-July 2 at the Goodwood House in West Sussex, England.

“A jaw-dropping variety of Ferrari’s finest road and racing cars will be found at the Festival,” organizers announced Friday, “including competition sports cars and single seaters, incredible road cars, and the very latest supercars. For lovers of the iconic Italian brand, it will be a truly once in a lifetime experience.”

The news release said at least 70 cars bearing the Prancing Horse emblem will be showcased at the annual festival.

“From Ferrari’s long, continuous and hugely successful history in motorsport, a number of the most celebrated of Maranello’s racers will be in action up Goodwood’s famous 1.16-mile hill,” they added.

“Among these will be around 25 iconic single-seater Ferraris, covering each of the key post-war Grand Prix eras, powered by 4-, 6-, 8- and 12-cylinder engines, with normal aspiration, superchargers and turbos.

“On a calmer note, one of the classes in the popular Cartier ‘Style et Luxe’ concours d’elegance will be dedicated to Ferrari’s legendary 250 models.”

Meanwhile, the overall theme for the weekend will be “Peaks of Performance — Motorsports Game-Changers.”

“Amongst a glittering array of cars and motorcycles from around the world, this year the festival will celebrate racing machines that were so fast, powerful, expensive or complicated that the rules had to be changed to rein them in,” the Goodwood news release noted.

“This year’s theme – ‘Peaks of Performance – Motorsport’s Game-Changers’ – will pay tribute to the high-watermarks of motorsport.”

Vehicles already entered include a 1.5-litre Delage 15 S8 and Mercedes-Benz W125, a 50cc Honda RC166 and Lancia Delta S4, as well as a Ferrari 330 P4, Benetton B193B, and the unbeatable Penske PC23.

More than 600 cars and motorcycles are expected to take part in a variety of events including the Moving Motor Show, Forest Rally Stage, Michelin Super Ran, etc. Also on the schedule are the Cartier Style et Luxe concours, an aviation exhibition and a Bonhams auction.

Organizers added that tickets for Saturday events already are sold out, with Thursday, Friday and Sunday tickets still available. For details visit the Goodwood website.
