Forest Grove best in show goes to 1935 Mercedes-Benz

Best of Show 1935 Mercedes-Benz 500K Sports Tourer | Forest Grove Concours d’ Elegance photo

Owned by Thomas and Rhonda Taffet of California, a 1935 Mercedes-Benz 500K Sports Tourer was selected as best in show at the 44th annual Forest Grove Concours d’Elegance last weekend at the Pacific University campus in Oregon. The car was shown by its restorer, Jim Frisworld of Oregon.

Miles Collier, founder of the Revs Institute for Automotive Research, acted as senior judge at and event that featured some 300 cars with special classes for vintage Volkswagens, Porsche street and competition cars, 100 years of BMW, and Mercedes-Benz.

Other significant awards included “Best Non-Classic Car” to a 1932 Ford Standard, “Best Open Car” to a 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz and “Best Closed Car” to a 1957 Lincoln Continental Mark II.
