With Burt Reynolds being a huge draw for spectators at the Fall Florida Autofest last weekend in Lakeland, it only made sense to see a display  that included several Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am’s and other cars from the movie, including the sheriff’s car, Mr. Bigs Cadillac, the “Just Married” Pontiac, as well as a new Camaro-based 2016 Pontiac Trans Am.

Set in the middle of November, the show had a summer-like atmosphere as the weather was warm and sunny with a cool breeze, smells of barbeque filled the air, and upbeat music was played by a DJ. With the event held at the Sun N Fun facility, the show was littered with glimpses of airplanes from the aeronautics school on the grounds providing a unique mix of cars and planes.

In addition to the movie car display, spectators could enjoy a classic car show which featured dozens of local rides, with  hundreds of cars for sale in the car corral, view custom coaches as part of the air and coach concours, take helicopter and plane rides, view and bid on auction vehicles, visit the swap meet and check out classic boats in the boat display.

Additionally, the DuPont Registry presented a “cars and coffee” event on Saturday.
