Inaugural ELK Charity Challenge

-

We reported earlier this week about the inaugural ELK Charity Challenge road rally, but didn’t have room in that earlier coverage for these images captured along the 7-day, nearly 1,000-mile driving route in California: from Ventura to Santa Barbara, up the coastal highway to Monterey, then across the state to near Yosemite, and then back through Oakland to wine country before heading to the finish line by way of the Golden Gate and Bay bridges.

  1. Hi there, My buddy Pete and I, are New Zealanders and we will be spending the three months of the northern summer (from 06/06/15) touring USA (mostly) in a one-owner 80,000 mile 1972 Pontiac Catalina Safari wagon we bought out of Illinois through Ebay. As we are both old car nuts from way back, we would love to attend as many car related events as possible during our stay. We would love to hear about any shows, race meets, swap meets, breakfast runs, auctions and car meets of every kind, right down to regular weeknight club meetings in bars or restaurants. We just want to meet and chat with as many like minded souls as possible. We love ’em all from Model T to Lamborghini and ’50s Cruisers and hot rods to Nascar. Our route will be approximately LAX across the southernmost states to Florida, up the east coast to Bos/NY/Wash, west to the Mid-West and Route 66 back to LA with deviations to attend events. If anyone wants to tell us about their car related event, they can do so by emailing details to me at [email protected] which is the email address I’ll be monitoring during the trip. Cheers, Malcolm Graham
