The Greenwich Concours, which celebrated it’s 20th year last weekend, is really two concours event in one. The Saturday of the concours is an all-American event and Sunday is an all-European gathering.

This year, weather on Saturday was wonderful but Sunday was wet. Nonetheless, that did not stop entrants from bringing out some very high-end cars, a display of the fortitude of East Coast car collectors.

The Saturday show featured some amazing cars, most notably the best of show-winning Studebaker President, as well as the last surviving 1963 Mustang concept car and a Duisenberg Model J.

Those were the standouts in my eyes among more than 100 fantastic vehicles, some of them displayed in an impressive working-car class of station wagons and utility vehicles.

Rain Sunday kept neither the car owners nor the spectators away. The standouts of the day were the Lancia Barchetta, the BMW 328 which was a period Mille Miglia entrant, and the best of show-winning Brough Superior 8.

Keep in mind that all of the above mentioned cars were open cars, two of which did not even have convertible tops, and you get an idea that this concours really is made up of entrants who are the hardcore crew.
