In conjunction with its recent sale of collector vehicles at Abu Dhabi, RM Sotheby’s staged an online-only sale of 103 lots of Formula 1 memorabilia that has ended with sales totaling $728,454, the auction company reports.
The top sale of the event was a 1988 Ayrton Senna McLaren-Honda signed helmet that brought $102,000. An 800-horsepower Ferrari F2002 Tipo 051/B/C V10 racing engine sold for $93,600.
RM Sotheby’s said the online sale drew bids from residents of 34 countries, and that 56 percent of those bidders were new customers.
