In most places, Cars and Coffee events are local affairs that attract car buddies to meet up on a Saturday morning and show off their rides.
But this is Amelia Island Concours weekend, so everything automotive is bigger and grander. On Saturday, the annual Cars and Coffee at the Concours brought together car clubs and collectors from throughout the region to participate in a free show at The Golf Club of Amelia Island, where the exclusive Concours d’Elegance would be held the following day.
Everyone is invited to bring his or her classic car, custom, late-model exotic, sports car or what-have-you for the laid-back show, presented by Heacock Classic Car Insurance, that attracted hundreds of entrants and onlookers.
Part of the Saturday fun is the opportunity to see the manufacturers’ displays set up for Sunday’s concours, including Porsche, BMW, Lamborghini, Jaguar and Mercedes-Benz. The displays became focal points for brand-loyal collectors to gather and play.
