The final 2017 McLaren Senna of the 500 produced will be auctioned at no reserve during Barrett-Jackson’s 50th anniversary Scottsdale sale, being through January 30 at WestWorld.
The McLaren, driven only 902 miles, is a stunning supercar powered by an electrically actuated, twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 that generates 789 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, making it capable of zero-60 sprints in 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 208 miles per hour.
The scissor-door coupe is named for the late Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna, one of the greatest drivers for the race team founded by the late Bruce McLaren.
“Bruce McLaren and Ayrton Senna are two of the most revered names in motorsports,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and chief executive of Barrett-Jackson. “McLaren is admired for his precise style that helped him co-drive the Shelby American team Ford GT40 with Chris Amon to overall victory at Le Mans in 1966. Three-time Formula One champion Senna was one of the greatest drivers in Team McLaren’s history, and one of the best in motorsports history as well.
“This rare and unique car is a tribute to a pair of men decades apart who both helped forge the McLaren legend.”
This McLaren Senna, said to be in “pristine condition,” is fitted with an extensive list of factory options that totals $200,000, including a 24k-gold heat shield, Gorilla Glass door panels and gloss-coated exposed carbon fiber with red accents.
The car was originally sold by McLaren at auction in 2017, raising $2.67 million to benefit Senna’s charity that supports youth in Brazil, the racer’s home country.
