For the 11th time, the town of Paradise Valley, which is tucked into the shadow of Camelback Mountain between Phoenix and Scottsdale, celebrated the Veterans Day weekend with a classic car show in the morning and a cruise around town just in time for lunch at El Chorro.
The event not only celebrates Veterans Day but all proceeds this year benefited two charities — Arizona Military Assistance Mission and Sentinels of Freedom — both set up to help veterans of the fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. Those proceeds were increased when the restaurant donated the noon-time meal so all money collected could go to veterans assistance.
Because many of the Phoenix area’s leading car collectors live in Paradise Valley, the show often features the finest of Arizona’s classic vehicles and provides an eclectic mix of pre- and post-war (through the 1974 model year) European and American classics, and sports cars, hot rods, American muscle and more.
And because the show is held at the Paradise Valley City Hall complex, most of the 140 cars benefit from covered parking that protects them from the sun.
