Driven 131 miles in 28 years, and now going to auction

-

If you’re into “time capsule” cars, there’s a 1991 Peugeot 309 GTi on the docket for Barons’ Classic Winter Warmer auction that you might want to check out. Though a mundane family sedan, the car has been driven ony 131 miles in 28 years.

“The vendor bought the car new in 1991 but was working overseas a great deal and had a second car, so the Peugeot was barely used, as the mileage so clearly shows,” the auction house reports.

“Throughout its life the car has been kept garaged and it is in showroom condition. Engine, electricals, interior, bodywork etc. are as-new and, with a guide price of £8,000-£11,000, it represents a fantastic opportunity to acquire a ‘new’ classic family saloon that can only prove to be a sound investment for the future.”

Do the math and Barons expects the car to sell for $10,290 to $14,150 at the auction, scheduled for February 26 at Sandown Park in England.

If you’d like something with celebrity appeal, Barons’ docket also includes a 1976 Lincoln Continental Mk IV that for 12 years was owned by Mark Brzezicki, a drummer who played with Big Country and also with Roger Daltrey, Peter Gabriel, Lionel Richie and others.

Also on offer at the sale will be a 1992 Ginetta G33, one of only 70 still known to exist, a 48,000-mile 2-door 1981 Range Rover Classic, and a 1974 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia convertible “restoration project” that has been an Irish car and features right-hand drive.
