Offered at the 46th annual Scottsdale Barrett-Jackson auction, this 1962 Chevrolet Corvette convertible “Fuelie” has two tops and is powered by a 327 engine rated with 360 horsepower and mated to a 4-speed manual transmission.
The car comes from the factory fitted with the RPO-687 race package, which consists of heavy-duty metallic brakes, suspension, , air scoops/deflectors, cooling fans, wide wheels and fast-steering adaptor.
Only 246 Corvettes were produced in 1962 with the race package.
This car has 26,337 original miles and rides on original non-DOT blackwall tires. It’s finished in Sateen Silver with black interior and black soft-top.
The car has NCRS Top Flight and Bloomington Gold Special Collection status along with an owner history that reportedly includes several notable collectors.
Options on this Corvette include the auxiliary hardtop, T-10 transmission, 4.11 posi-traction, Wonder Bar radio, fuel injection, off-road exhaust, hubcaps, 15×5-1/2-inch wheels, and 6.70×15-inch blackwall tires.
Other factory-correct components include the non-DOT spare tire, jack, jack tools, seatbelts, washer system, shifter, shielding, air cleaner, generator, fuel-injection unit, original exhaust, rebound straps, trunk mat, trunk liner, taillight cones and T-3 headlights.
The car comes documented with the owner’s manual packet, owner’s protection plan, hardtop wrench, appraisal and Bloomington Special Collection book.
