Editor’s note: This is the 10th in a 30-day sponsored series featuring cars to be sold January 14-22 during Barrett-Jackson’s 46th Scottsdale auction.

Offered without a reserve at the 46th annual Scottsdale Barrett-Jackson auction, the 1929 Ford “Alumatub” hot rod was handcrafted by Boyd Coddington on the Discovery Channel TV show American Hot Rod.

The Alumatub features an all-aluminum body that was hand-formed by Marcel Delay on a aluminum frame and chassis constructed by Coddington. An aluminum 350-cubic inch Chevrolet engine powers the hot rod.

Other highlights include a Barry Grant Demon three-deuce carburetor and a Powerglide transmission with Mooneyes electronic shifter. The rear end features a quick-change set up and the look is completed with one-off knockoff wheels and lift-off top.
