Offered without a reserve at Barrett-Jackson’s Palm Beach auction, this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 has been inspected by Jerry MacNeish and certified by Camaro Hi-Performance as a real factory-built Z/28.
The engine has been rebuilt, however, and during the process the engine block was decked and numbers were shaved during. The suffix code was re-stamped with the original suffix code. The engine date is marked as the third week of March, code 9B18C.
Other date-stamped components, such as the 4-speed manual transmission, were built at the same time as the engine block, the serial number by the oil filter matches the car VIN, and the rear end was also built March 13, 1969.
