Editor’s note: This is the sixth in a 30-day series featuring cars from the Ron Pratte Collection that will be sold at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction in January.

Sporting VIN #0001, this 2013 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible (Lot #2528) was the first Corvette built for Chevrolets special 2013 Corvette 427 Collector Edition.

This unique convertible features the legendary 427-cid V8 engine and is the fastest, most capable convertible in Corvettes history.

This 427 model also shows off the stunning 60th Anniversary Appearance Package.

With 60 years of history and advancements in technology and design, it is no wonder Corvette has carved out a permanent niche into the global automotive landscape. Its the top-selling high-performance sports car in its segment and stands alone as the truly American Sports Car in the competitive class.

Various technologies from the Corvette Z06 and Corvette ZR1 have been incorporated into the 427 convertible, making it the highest-performance Corvette convertible yet.

The handcrafted 7.0 liter LS7 engine was developed with the Corvette LeMans-winning GT1 engine and has a dry sump oil system and titanium connecting rods and valves. The car sits on Michelin PS2 tires with 19-inch front wheels and 20-inch rear wheels. Also featured on this car are a carbon fiber raised hood, dual-mode exhaust system, magnetic selective ride control and launch control.

This 2013 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is scheduled to cross the auction block in Scottsdale on Saturday January 17.

The Ron Pratte Collection will begin being auctioned with automobilia from Saturday, January 10 at 9 a.m. (MST) through Tuesday, January 13 at 1 p.m. Prattes vehicles first cross the block at 4 p.m. on Tuesday with lot numbers 2000 through 2109 and continue with lot numbers 2500 through 2530 Saturday, January 17.
