Ten rare 2009-10 Corvettes from a single private collector are to be offered September 10 at Dan Kruse’ 42nd Hill Country Classic auction at the Palmer Events Center in Austin, Texas.

According to Dan Kruse, founder and chief exeuctive of Dan Kruse Classics, the collector has decided to part ways with the Corvettes without a reserve after he bought the cars in 2009 with the thought that, “he might never get another opportunity to buy these cars again” due to the state of the economy at the time.

“Every single car is like it came from the factory,” Kruse said of the Corvette collection of special-edition, limited-production models with between 7 and 265 miles on their odometers.

Included in the collection are two of 72 Corvettes produced with the Competition Sport package, an option for the Z06 for track events. One of the cars offered is one of 39 coupes in Blade Silver while the other is one of 10 Black Z06 cars with the package.

Some 125 of the ’09 Corvettes were the GT1 Championship edition and six are offered as part of this Corvette collection. The GT1 Championship edition commemorated Corvette Racing’s wins in the American Le Mans Series over a decade. Color options were limited to Velocity Yellow or Black. The collection includes two Z06’s in Velocity Yellow of 38 built, two Black Z06s of 17 built, one Black convertible of seven built, and one Velocity Yellow convertible of 10 built.

The collection also includes a black 2009 ZR1 Corvette and a yellow 2010 ZR1. The 2009 ZR1 was Corvette’s fastest production car.

The Corvettes are to be auctioned at approximately 3 p.m., followed by two additional cars from the same collector – -a Monterey Blue 2006 Lamborghini Murcielago convertible, one of two produced, and a 1962 Chevrolet Corvette roadster.

Over 200 cars are to be sold during the one-day auction. Other significant vehicles include a 1966 Lincoln Continental limousine that was used by Henry Kissinger, a 1966 Ford GT40 coupe signed by Edsel Ford II, and a numbers-matching 1966 Corvette featuring the L79 package.
