This car still evokes the same rush of emotion that it did when I was a young man.

I promised myself that someday I would have to own one. It took many years but I found her online at the end of 2013 and I finally am living my dream with this numbers matching 1979 Anniversary edition Pontiac Trans Am.

Equipped with the 400-ci V8 and 4-speed transmission, she is everything I dreamed about. I now pretty much live in my garage. It’s just hard to be away from her. I could not be happier.

  1. Very nice. I had my ’79 T/A in ’79, She wasn’t the Anniversary Edition but she was platinum with the black hobnail interior. It was the first & only “new” car that i have ever bought to this day. Unfortunately I lost my job after having my T/A for a year. I reluctantly had to sell her back to the dealer because of the payments. Fast forward thirty five years & I found her twin (almost). The only differences are my “new” T/A has T-Tops and no factory A/C or cruise control. It is the Olds 403 auto, PS, PB, TILT, PW, & PDL. They were both WS/6 cars. I love cruisin’ with her when the weather is nice, I just wish my hair would grow back & I could drop a few pounds to feel like the old days.

  2. Very awesome. I had my ’79 T/A in ’79, She wasn’t the Birthday Version but she was jewelry with the dark hobnail internal. It was the first & only “new” car that i have ever purchased to this day. Unfortunately I missing my job after having my T/A for a season. I hesitantly had to offer her returning to the supplier because of the expenses. Move on 30 five decades & I discovered her double (almost). The only variations are my “new” T/A has T-Tops and no manufacturer A/C or vacation management. It is the Olds 403 automatic, PS, PB, TILT, PW, & PDL. They were both WS/6 vehicles. I really like cruisin’ with her when the elements is awesome, I just wish my locks would come returning & I could fall a few weight to experience like the old times.
