I found my 1966 Fairlane 500 GT convertible in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, in 2005. I am third owner of this always-garaged car.

Ford Motor Company destroyed all Fairlane records prior to 1967 so no information is available as to order of production. The GT and GTA (automatic transmission were grouped together at 4327 units produced.

I have won five TOP 20 awards at NMCA and NMRA national shows and selected Racepages magazine editor’s choice in 2012.

The car is Candyapple Red, 4 speed, bucket seats, 390 high performance 335-horsepower, and is fast, fast, fast.

  1. I was impressed with Harry William’s Fairlane GT. My first new car was identical except it was a GTA. Best car I ever had. Would like it bac, or one like it. Fast? My friend had a four speed GTO and my Fairlane would suck the doors off it. It would pass everything but a gas station.
