I bought this car with my Visa 30 years ago. It had solid-lift cam and they had adjusted it for hydro lift so it ran real bad.

I got the car for $3,000 in primer. I took it home and started sanding. It had so much Bondo I had to take a body class to fix it. I sanded for a month and then I learned how to finish metal and I did the whole car. It turned out wonderful. It was so solid. My wife and I went to work on it.

The old guys kept telling me to keep it original. But I always wanted a Pro Street car and finally my wife came up to me and said, “Don’t you listen to all them boys telling you want to do. You make up your own mind and do what you want.”

So I did it as a Pro Street. I took us 8 years to finish, but I did it the way I wanted it and made it as fast as i could afford to. My motor has the best money can buy.

With a two-speed transmission and 410 gear it launches like a rocket to the point that you almost pass out just from the g force.

Now it’s one of the fastest cars around, a 10-second car, so fast no one ever beat me to this day.
