In the summer of 2014, and very new to the computer, I came across the most beautiful thing I ever laid eyes on —a 1934 Ford Coupe, and I found her on this site, ClassicCars.com.
When reading more about her, she was residing in Florida. Now, it seemed a pipe dream to ever see her for real. But I showed my husband, never thinking he’d like her, too.
Two days later, he came home from work and asked me if I’d like to do a road trip – yes, to Florida!
I said Yes!
We made all the arrangements, and then a phone call came scheduling my husband’s surgery for knee replacement, which we could not put off.
But we made arrangements again to travel three weeks later and it worked, thanks to a bag of frozen peas that kept the swelling down on Tom’s new knee. We would stop at rest stops ever two hours and apply the frozen peas.
We finally got to Florida and the owner opened the garage door and there she was.
Was it worth it? Oh, yeah!
She’s a beauty and we have absolutely no regrets.
She’s Vanilla Yellow in color, but everybody who sees her is “pea green” with envy.
