Carlisle Auctions posts $3.4 million in sales

A 1935 Packard 8 sport  Phaeton sold for $120,000 as the Fall Carlisle collector car auction, which posted $3.4 million in overall sales.

Nearly 400 cars crossed the block, selling at a 56 percent sell-through rate. The auction also raised $30,000 for charities.

An original 1967 Chevrolet Corvette scored $100,000. Rounding off the top five were a 1970 Dodge Challenger which sold for $78,000, a 1965 Corvette for $71,000 and a 1958 Corvette for $57,000.

The auction was part of the Fall Carlisle event that icludes a car show, swap meet, car corral and new collectors corner. Attendance was 90,000 for the weekend.

The next Carlisle Event will be November 12-15 in Lakeland, Florida, with an auction taking place November 13-14.
