Everyman’s classics is the theme for the docket for Classic Car Auctions’ sale Saturday at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre in England, where a CCA-record 164 vehicles will be up for bidding.
The vehicles range from what CCA calls “low mileage, time-warp classics” to “excellent value performance cars,” and from barn-found restoration projects to “unusual, rare vehicles to appeal to car collectors of all tastes and budgets.”
Among the most unusual of those vehicles is a 1978 Toyota Lite Ace Day van believed to be the only one in the United Kingdom. CCA has assigned a pre-auction estimated value of £6,000 to £8,000 ($8,500 to $11,400).
Headline vehicles include a 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera Supersport SSE cabriolet that is one of only 18 such vehicles made with right-hand drive, pre-sale valued at £35,000 to £40,000 ($50,000 to $57,000). Another Porsche on the docket is a right-driven, manually shifted 2006 911 3.6 Turbo, which carries a pre-sale estimate of £28,000 to £32,000 ($40,000 to $45,500).
Coming out of storage after 20 years is a 1990 John Cooper Special Mini with only 292 miles on its odometer and a pre-sale estimate of £12,000 to £14,000 ($17,000 to $20,000).
According to CCA, another car figuring to draw attention is a 1979 Ford Escort 1.6 Ghia with less than 4,000 miles since new and a pre-sale estimate of £9,000 to £11,000 ($12,800 to $15,600).
“Due to high demand the June Sale will be the biggest sale we’ve ever held,” Guy Lees-Milne, CCA general manager, said in a news release. “We’re expecting a big crowd on the day and we look forward to finding happy new homes for this collection of very special cars.”
