Looking for a last-minute stocking stuffer, or maybe you’re just anticipating the car person in your life’s next birthday. Regardless, you probably need to know about the new “sound cards” produced by Beaulieu, Britain’s National Motor Museum, the Hampshire Cultural Trust and a company called Really Wild Cards.
Twenty-one vehicles from the Beaulieu museum’s collection were chosen for the greeting cards. The cover of the car shows a photograph of the car. The surprise comes when you open the card and hear the actual sound of the car’s engine.
“The photographs for the cards were taken in the Beaulieu attraction grounds and in our studio and we have included caption details of the vehicle’s history on the back of each card,” Jonathan Day, Motoring Picture Library manager at the museum said in a news release. “All of the vehicles included are part of the National Motor Museum’s collection of more than 250 vehicles from throughout motoring history and we are very excited to be part of this unique project.”
Cars featured on the greeting cards range from a 1903 De Dion Bouton to a 1960 Allard dragster. Several of the cards feature motorcycles.
