Owls Head Transportation Museum in Owls Head, Maine, as part of the 3/4 Morgan Group and their annual Autumn MOG event. On Saturday, the cars will be parked for a Concours d’Elegance.
The museum is currently seeking quality donations for a Flea Market to be held October 31, and Great Fall Auction on November 1. They are accepting everything from tools to classic vehicles, collectibles, art and antiques.
On Saturday, the Kansas City Auto Museum in Olathe, Kansas, is holding its Cars and Coffee event from 8 to 10 a.m.
Saturday and Sunday, the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum has teamed up with a local photographer to provide professional family photos taken at the museum. Each session is $100 and includes 15 photos and a DVD. To book a session, contact the museum.
Through October 30, the museum is showing its travelling community exhibit, the “Women Workers of the Auburn Automobile Company,” at the Cupbearer Café in downtown Auburn. The exhibit is composed of photographs of women working in the Auburn Automobile Company; the hope is that some of the women will be identified by relatives, neighbors or family friends so their legacy could be preserved.
The AACA Museum in Hershey, Pennsylvania, will host the Longroof Forum meet on Saturday, and spectators are invited to show their vintage station wagons or come out and see the cars. The Longroof Forum primarily focuses on General Motors wagons from 1991-1996, but all years, makes and models are welcome to attend the event.
The museum is holding its TorqToberFest on October 7-9. The event will include vehicles from the museum’s “super-secret storage collection” in addition to craft beers, local wines, home-style food and live music all three nights.
On Sunday, the Blackhawk Museum is set to host a “Night at the Museum” event in the spirit of the Old West to benefit the Children’s Education and Transportation Fund, which provides children with free transportation to schools. The event will feature music, dancing, western costume contest and historical re-enactments.
On October 10 at Blackhawk is the Pre-War Classics “Picnic on the Plaza.” The show is open to all pre-1941 cars, and the museum is encouraging participants to dress in period attire.
The museum’s Fall Speaker series continues on October 10 as well with Richard Burns Carlson discussing American Luxury Automobiles. The rest of the series is as follows: October 24, Steve Moal presents “Creating Carini’s Car: From Concept to Completion;” November 17, Matt Stone presents “Heros, Legends, and Friends – McQueen, Newman, Garner;” December 5, Bill Warner presents “The Cars of Cuba, a Dream or a Nightmare;” December 12, Danny Sullivan presents “Spin and Win – the 1985 Indy 500.”
October 9-11 is the 11th annual Barber Vintage Festival at the Barber Vintage Museum in Birmingham, Alabama, which will feature the Britten family and Britten motorcycles.
The National Corvette Museum, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, has teamed with the Kentucky State Police for a scenic road tour with stops at Abraham Lincoln’s Birthplace, the Rosemary Clooney House, Newport Aquarium, Carter Caves and more. Meals and accommodations are included in the registration fee of $950 for members, $990 for non-members. Tours will be October 12-17, 19-24, and 26-31.
The World of Speed Museum in Wilsonville, Oregon, features movies on the big screen in the main indoor gallery. Movies start at 7 p.m. and prices are $2.50 for members and $8 for non-members. Movies are: October 16, Bullitt; October 30, Christine; November 20, Cars; and December 11, Talladega Nights. In addition to the movies, for the next few months two Aston Martins will be on display at the museum, a 1960 Aston Martin DB4GT and 1961 DB4GT Zagato.
The California Automobile Museum in Sacramento, California, will hold its “Third Thursday Sketch and Sip” on October 16. Local wines will be served, and Ron Vogel and Anna Baum will be on hand to teach participants basic designs of Automobiles.
Following will be the museum’s inaugural Tuner Car Show on October 24, with help from 1992 Performance and local car clubs NorCalSTIclub and NorCal S2k.
Beginning October 17 is the first in a series of lectures and workshops at the Heritage Motor Centre in England. The first is “Drawing from Automotive History” led by art teacher Richard Cook, who will provide tips for drawing automobiles. On October 24 is “Cars through the Lens” focusing on automotive photography. On November 29, there will be a presentation called “The story of our gas turbine car.”
Muscle Car City’s monthly car show will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on October 17, and the monthly flea market takes place October 25 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Friday, October 30, a Trunk O’ Treats event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m.
On October 23, the Simeone Automotive Museum in Philadelphia celebrates Corvette Racing with special guests Doug Fehan, program manager for Corvette racing, and Tommy Milner, driver of the Le Mans class-winning Corvette.
The LeMay Museum is holding its Trunk-or-Treat event at the Marymount Event Center in Tacoma, Washington, on October 24. Children will be able to trick-or-treat by going from car trunk to car trunk.
On October 25, the America on Wheels museum in Allentown, Pennsylvania, will host a Trunk or Treat event from 1 to 3 p.m. Craft tables will be on site for decorating treat bags.
The Studebaker National Museum is giving away several 2015 cars and SUVs in an upcoming raffle. Cars being raffled include a Toyota Camry SE, Volkswagen Passat 1.8T, Lexus CT Hybrid, Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport 4×4 and Ford Escape Titanium. Tickets are $50 for one, or $100 for three and can be purchased at the museum or over the phone until 5 p.m. on December 8. The drawing will take place at 6 p.m. on December 8.
