The Arizona Concours d’Elegance, an exclusive celebration of fine automobiles at the historic Arizona Biltmore Resort, has announced that Andrea Zagato will be an honored guest at the January 2016 event that will spotlight Carrozzeria Zagato with its own featured class: Coachwork of Zagato.

One of the most famous and esteemed Italian design houses, Zagato will be honored at the Concours d’Elegance on January 24 with an expected dozen examples of the expressive automotive designs of the Milanese company. The appearance of chief executive Andrea Zagato – the third generation of his family to lead Zagato since its founding in 1919 – and his wife, Marella, will allow Arizona Concours participants to gain perspective about this important design firm, viewing the artistry of its illustrious past while learning more about its present and future.

The third annual Arizona Concours once again starts the annual Classic Car Week, which takes place every January in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area. Held in the intimate setting of the manicured inner lawns of the Arizona Biltmore, the Concours will host a magnificent collection of 90 vintage automobiles in more than a dozen standing classes to be judged during the Concours, culminating in Best of Show.

Besides Coachwork of Zagato, two other featured classes have been designated for the 2016 Arizona Concours – Duesenberg and Exceptional Cars of Great Britain.

Andrea Zagato and Marella Zagato, the granddaughter of Renzo Rivolta, founder of ISO Rivolta of Bresso, have worked together to return Carrozzeria Zagato to prominence on the worldwide stage. They reacquired the historic Zagato premises outside of Milan and proceeded with the long-term restoration to build a new corporate structure.

“Under their guidance, the firm has continued developing upon its legacy of innovative styling and advanced engineering by applying the same Milanese philosophies of functionalism and rationalism as founder Ugo Zagato had nearly a century ago,” the company says in an official biography of Andrea Zagato. “Its portfolio of internationally renowned projects includes Aston Martin, Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Maserati, Bentley, Lamborghini and Porsche, to name a few.”

The third annual Arizona Concours d’Elegance follows two years of highly praised events held in the Art Deco elegance of the Arizona Biltmore. In Phoenix’s typical balmy winter weather, the entrants, spectators, celebrity guests and media representatives enjoy a beautiful day of outstanding cars in the exclusive setting.

The Arizona Concours d’Elegance benefits Make-A-Wish® Arizona, the founding chapter of the national organization that grants wishes for children facing life-threatening medical conditions.
